The third stop of the 4th Season of the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour is fast approaching, and poker players from around the world are getting their bags packed for Auckland New Zealand. The APPT tournament will be held at the SkyCity Casino in Auckland, New Zealand from September 15th through the 19th, and will feature a $3,250 NZD ($2,275 USD) buy-in championship event.
The first stop of the APPT in Season 4 took place in Manila from March 20th – 25th, where 430 poker players created a prize-pool of over $1 million. The winner of the tournament was American Binh Nguyen who took over $260,000 in prize-money back to the states.
The second stop on the tour was in Macau from May 18th – 23rd, and this time around 342 players created a $1.6 million prize-pool thanks to a larger entrant’s fee than the previous stop in Manila, despite drawing nearly 100 fewer entrants. Another American came away victorious in Macau; this time it was Victorino Torres who took home the crown, along with the $418,026 awarded to the winner.
The Season 3 tournament held in Auckland drew an impressive 263 entrants and was won by New Zealand native Simon Watt. Watt captured the title, in addition to the $154,043 in prize-money.
