The first and foremost important step in search engine optimization is the URL. Before you do anything to optimize your content, or go about gathering links, etc, you need to choose a URL.
All lot of inexperienced website owners think up a clever name for their website and then run out to purchase the Domain Name. This is a great way to start a brand, just ask Google, or Bing, Mebo, all of those newer sites with crazy brands. However, as far as SEO goes, you’re not getting a leg up by inventing a word.
One of the primary ways a search engine catalogs your page is by the URL. If you are selling poker chips but your URL is www.mysnazzygamblinggear.com you are already off to a bad start and will have a difficult time positioning your page for search.
A more appropriate URL would obviously be www.pokerchips.com. Any variation of that will work as well such as buypokerchips.com.
Refine Your Poker Affiliate URL
Refine your URL by doing some research. If there are 20 million people selling poker chips, or poker rakeback, which I’m sure you can relate to, then you will have a hard time getting on the front page of the search engines. Therefore, you need something to set your offerings in the poker world apart from the others. Something like www.pokerrakebackformergesites.com narrows your search down to people looking for rakeback on merge sites (recent Merge drama aside).
The narrowing down to what your site is specifically offering is a major factor increasing your chances of ranking high on the SERP. The term SERP is an acronym for search engine result page.

The Bodog gambling brand recently made a few changes to their T&C and Commission plans. Some of the affiliates of the Bodog Brand are affected by these changes. The standard advertised Revenue Share rates have been changed as well as standard CPA has been changed as well.
Those who are existing revenue share partners will remain on their current program unless they would like to switch. The new offering has different tier levels and partners can earn up to 45% on casino revenues.
New affiliate partners will be introduced to a variation of minimum player requirements and they will be outlined in the T&C. the new variation will not affect those who already have an account as a Bodog Affiliate. New partners who do not refer at least three players who make deposits in the first six months will earn a 10% share of revenue. New affiliates will still have the opportunity to earn the standard revenue share levels after the six month period if they meet the minimum requirement for new players.
The last change to the revenue sharing partner program now is subject to fees. The program has not charge affiliates in the past but due to challenges and increase costs related to doing business the program has been forced to calculate monthly earnings with fee deductions. Only those who open an account prior to July 1st 2010 will be affected.
The Standard CPA offerings for Bodog Affiliates have been changed as well. The current offering of the CPA is $100 and now there will be a sliding scale. Partners will be able to earn up to $125 depending on how many qualified players are referred. The qualifications for earning CPA will be the same.
One through twenty depositing players will earn $75 CPA; twenty four to forty depositing players will earn $100 while forty one and up players will earn $125.
The new plan will go into effect on July 1st for existing partners and new affiliates will be subject to the changes as soon as they sign up.

The Merge Poker Network has grown considerably over the past few weeks as they have added new poker sites to their network. Many thought that the poker networks would suffer from lower traffic volumes moving from their existing network but that was not the case.
Merge Poker Network welcomed the Players Only, Super Book and Sportsbook to their network in the past few weeks and the network has since reported an increase in traffic by 160%. PokerScout.com confirmed these statistics and the Merge Poker Network now sits at 17th in the poker networks list climbing from the 20th spot in just one week.
Not only do the new sites benefit with the increase but existing sites benefit as well. The Merge Poker Network is now reporting around 1000 players at peak time which is good numbers for the network. The new poker rooms used to operate on the Cake Poker Network and many in the poker industry though that the Cake Poker Network would suffer from the loss but they have held their spot at number 10 on the list.
Since the three poker rooms left the Cake Poker Network, they have only seen a 16% decline in traffic. The network still powers such sites as Cake Poker of course and Doyles Room, both of which continue to bring in players.
Overall the two competing networks are great for the poker industry. Both are accepting of United States players so we all win as the two fight to bring the best gaming offerings, promotions and tournaments to their players.
